The two-layered velvet Dog Blanket filled with sheep wool Lavalan® is an upgrade of our classic Dog Blanket. Adding sheep wool into our products was only a matter of time. It is a perfect fit with our brand given its functional benefits and how its properties are in line with our values. Sheep wool is an amazing natural and sustainable thermal regulator. It is famous for providing its user warmth when it is cold and cooling when it is hot. At the same time, wool is great at neutralising odour and has very high breathability. We filled our blankets with wool weighing 200g per square meter, which makes them super comfy. That means the Dog Blanket works great not only in Dog Beds but also as a soft cushion on the ground or a sofa.

The Dog Blanket was responsibly handmade in Slovakia.

Lavalan® Sheep Wool

Lavalan® is a German brand with more than 100 years of experience. They source sheep wool purely from Europe, and their supply chain is monitored and certified with EgoTrace. But most importantly, Lavalan® guarantees the sheep wool it uses was collected only with the highest standards on animal welfare. At the same time, Lavalan® incorporated zero-waste and upcycling philosophy into their production. We chose the Lavalan Sport, which is a combination of 85% of sheep wool fiber and 15% corn-based synthetic fiber called Polylactid Acid (PLA). Lavalan® sheep wool is frequently used in outdoor and functional clothing offered by brands such as Fjällräven, Alpina, or Helly Hansen.

Fabric

The upholstery-grade fabric is composed of 59% recycled polyester with Global Recycled Standard certificate and 41% virgin polyester. This means that roughly 20 used plastic bottles are recycled for one medium-sized Lebeddie Dog Blanket. The fabric was developed for premium sofas with the purpose of withstanding constant use. The exceptional heavyweight of 435 grams per square meter and high abrasion resistance of 100,000 Martindale cycles provide the fabric with firmness and durability.

The Dog Blanket’s dimensions are adapted to the sizes of the Lebeddie Dog Beds so that a Blanket folded in half fits perfectly on the Bed’s sleeping surface.

Care

Dog hair does not stick to the velvet fabric and can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or wet cloth.

The Dog Blanket is machine washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Wool cleans itself, thus simple ventilation is often enough, saving unnecessary washing processes. Lavalan strongly recommends the use of a wool detergent as it does not contain proteases, which would destroy the structure of the wool. The Blanket should not be tumble dried or ironed.
